Free Gifts for Writers…

Yes, really – I’ve been working with (mostly) indie or aspiring authors for a few years now and I can give you 5 ways to make their day that will only cost you time…

  1. Like their Amazon page, this is beneficial to you as you will get notification of their latest book but also great for the author to be feel less lonely as they wade through the corridors of self-promotion…
  2. Follow them on social media – whichever ones you use take a look and see if they are there too, you are most likely to find all their links via a web page or blog they have.
  3. Tell a friend about their book, share a link to it or share their Facebook page, something like that. Takes a second.
  4. Ask your library to stock their book(s). Authors get a very small amount of money for each time their book is borrowed if they are registered – we are talking pennies here but that could add up. It’s also a great way to extend their audience and readership.
  5. LEAVE A REVIEW! Spend 10 minutes online. It only needs to be one line long to say ‘I liked it’ or ‘Good story and characters’. Reviews (numbers not good or bad) is how Amazon decides which books to show in various places on it’s page. They are a BIG DEAL. If you can it’s great to share them on other websites like Waterstones, Goodreads your local library or book shop too.
